Trim and Flashing

The terms “Trim” and Flashing” are both generally used to describe the metal pieces that complete the coverage provided by the roofing panels. There are different types Trim for different uses on the roof. There are wall flashings, ridge flashings, valley flashings, and more. We produce standard profiles for each of these, but we can also make custom-made profiles to fit our customers’ particular needs. Speak to one of our sales representatives for more information.

Here are some of our Standard Profiles. Click on the images for a closer look.

Ridge Cap:

  • Provides a watertight seal at the highest point of the roof.
  • Used to cover the peak where two roof panels meet at the ridge.

Rake Trim

  • Used along the sloping edges of the roof (gable ends).
  • Provides a finished edge and prevents wind-driven rain from entering.

“W” Valley

  • Installed in the valleys where two roof slopes meet.
  • Channels water away from the valley and prevents leaks.

Eave Trim/Drip Edge

  • Installed along the lower edge of the roof.
  • Directs water away from the fascia and into the gutters.
  • Protects the underlying structure from water damage.

Wall Trim:

Endwall Trim:

  • Used where a roof meets a vertical wall.
  • Prevents water from running behind the wall.

Sidewall Trim:

  • Used where a roof runs alongside a vertical wall.
  • Provides a seal between the roof and the wall.
